Reports: Texans re-sign PK Ka'imi Fairbairn to 3-year deal
Thomas Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Houston kept kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn from free agency by re-signing him on Wednesday to a three-year, $15.9 million contract, according to multiple reports.

Fairbairn's four-year deal expired but the Texans moved to bring him back, one day after agreeing to a three-year deal to retain tight end Dalton Schultz.

Fairbairn missed only three total field goal tries the past two seasons and has one miss in 12 attempts from 50-plus yards during that span. Fairbairn, 30, booted a team record 61-yarder in 2021.

An undrafted free agent who signed with the Texans in 2017, Fairbairn made 27 of 28 field goals and 21 of 22 extra points during the 2023 regular season but a hamstring injury forced him to miss five regular-season games.
